Annual Events in North Myrtle Beach

The music, the lights, the memories ... From holiday spectaculars to free concerts, there is always something happening that showcases the best of North Myrtle Beach no matter the time of year.

Spaghetti and Step-dancing

The Shag may be the city’s signature dance but during the Irish-Italian International Festival, you might catch us step-dancing or dancing the tarantella. Street performers and local dance troupes celebrate both heritages during the festival and if you’re hungry, then get ready to carbo-load in the spaghetti eating competition. Don’t forget to check out the restaurants competing for titles like Best Entrée and Best Dessert.

The Beach is Alive with the Sound of Music

NMB’s Music On Main Concert Series is an easy-breezy way to spend an evening. Every Thursday during the summer, we block off the road and bring in some of the best talents around. Bring a chair or a blanket and stake out a spot, then grab a drink and a sweet treat. The music styles and genres change each week, so every Thursday on Main is a unique and different experience.

Need more music? Sounds of Summer happens on the third Friday of every month at the North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex. The family-friendly concert series will have you dancing long after the sun goes down.

Bright Holidays

No matter what the holiday, NMB is always ready to celebrate. More than two million lights make up hundreds of light displays at the Great Christmas Light Show, some up to 55 feet tall. This drive-thru experience is a 1.5-mile path through the North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex. After the ride, you can get out and explore Santa’s Village with the Santa Express Train Ride and the Chris-maze while having hot chocolate and s'mores.

Fourth of July is a day-long celebration up and down NMB. To get the day started, you can do the annual Red White and Blue 5k then hit the beach for Salute From the Shore, a military flyover. The day ends with firework spectaculars lighting up the night. Bring a blanket or beach chair to the Cherry Grove Pier and be amazed as the ocean is lit up.

Celebrate spring and the Irish at the annual NMB St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival. Hundreds of floats cruise down the street along with golf carts decked out in traditional Irish regalia, including Leprechauns, shamrocks, and colorful rainbows. After the parade, the festival begins. Your Irish eyes will be smiling as you sip a Guinness and munch on a corned beef sandwich.
