Sports Facilities
North Myrtle Beach’s athletic and recreational facilities are here for you whether you’re looking to go for a swim in a competitive pool, battle it out on the pickleball court, or organize a 3-on-3 basketball game.
NMB’s four premier parks and rec centers are meticulously maintained and are favorites with locals and visitors alike. Some facilities can be reserved while others are first come first served. Browse through each one and see what they have to offer, from solo outings to group and family activities.
Break a Sweat
North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex is the pride and joy of NMB’s family-friendly athletic facilities. Travel teams love coming here. With lots of softball/baseball fields and soccer pitches, groups can come and make their own mini-tourney.
Central Park is an inclusive, 20-acre place for anyone looking to work up a sweat in the great outdoors, especially the younger kids in the group. There is a tee-ball diamond with a grass field and three youth softball/baseball diamonds with clay infields. Central Park also has two handicap-accessible playgrounds.
There are also four pickleball courts, half-court basketball, and lighted, hard surface tennis courts. The three picnic shelters can be reserved, and if there is league play or a tournament going on, concession stands will keep you refreshed.
The J. Bryan Floyd Community Center is sports and more! There are soccer, baseball, and softball fields, along with tennis, basketball, and volleyball courts. But there’s also roller hockey, pickleball courts, and a grand stage for performances. Hike the trail, grab a bite at the concession stand, and relax in the picnic area. And if your activities get the attention of the local media, you can find them in the Press Box.
Make a Splash
The Shark Wake Park is an adventure on the water all over the 25-acre lake within the North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex. While you’re there, bring your dogs and let them play in one of the two dog parks (one for big dogs and one for smaller ones) then go for a nature hike on one of our three hiking trails before relaxing at a free concert at the amphitheater.
Swimming skills of all levels will find a fun place to shine at the state-of-the-art North Myrtle Beach Aquatic & Fitness Center. Do laps in the eight-lane competitive pool. Not sure you’re up to the challenge? There’s a warm, three-lane teaching and therapy pool.
Once you towel off there’s still plenty to keep your heart rate up. A fully-equipped fitness room, sauna, basketball courts, and a jogging track are ready and waiting. And if you want to feel like a kid again, take a ride down the 20-foot water slide!
