North Myrtle Beach Attractions

When you’re ready to explore, you’ll be delighted with all the attractions in North Myrtle Beach (NMB). Beyond the beautiful beaches, you’ll find music and shows at world-class venues and family-friendly activities that’ll keep everyone entertained around every corner. A leisurely ride up the coast on a boat tour or dinner cruise is just a reservation away. Discover the city at your own pace and before you know it, you’ll already be planning your next visit.

Outdoor Adventures

From the ocean to the Intracoastal Waterway to marshy waters inland, there are so many ways to explore and enjoy the waters of NMB—possibly the area’s main attraction.

Skim the waves on a jet ski as you go on a dolphin watch tour with Action Water Sportz. Your guides know how to respectfully let you witness these magnificent mammals in their natural habitat. Another way to explore the ocean or marshes is with Great Escapes Kayak Expeditions, where the waters beneath you are demystified to reveal aquatic life below.

Challenge yourself or a family member at Shark Wake Park. See who can last the longest on water skis, wakeboard, kneeboard, or foil board as the cable park’s pulley system allows you to glide over the water—or maybe even pull a few tricks. Next, tackle the giant floating obstacle course and try not to wipe out.

Perhaps rolling along on a 70-foot riverboat is more your style? Barefoot Queen Riverboat Cruises offers sightseeing tours and dinner cruises down the Intracoastal Waterway for your chance at a slice of the boat life. For a classic beach experience, you’ll want to stroll one of the piers. Cherry Grove Pier and Apache Pier are both excellent places to breathe in the fresh sea air or throw out a fishing line.

Family Fun

If you’re up for some friendly competition, there’s always mini-golf! Fun for the whole family, it’s easy to grab a putter and see who can get the most holes-in-one. Hawaiian Rumble Golf and Hawaiian Village Miniature Golf give you the feeling of putting in the islands, while Lost Treasure Golf has dinosaur, raceway, and downed plane-themed courses.

There are plenty of museums to entertain the entire family too. Wheels of Yesteryear rolls in classic cars with enough chrome to check your look every few feet. Ripley’s Aquarium gets you up close with the sea’s most beautiful creatures—including penguins! And the Hollywood Wax Museum has lots of famous stars, but it also has a house of mirrors and an escape room the kids will love.

Take your pick of games galore at attractions like 810 Billiards & Bowling or LuLu's Beach Arcade. At 810 Billiards & Bowling, go beyond the namesake sports to play darts, air hockey, shuffleboard, pinball, skeeball, and more. At LuLu's Beach Arcade, play games of skill or chance to win prizes, and don’t miss the outdoor ropes course for high-up fun with a view of the waterways. Both locations also have full menus to keep you fueled for adventure.

When the sun goes down the stars come out, as in the stars of the shows. North Myrtle Beach has entertainment venues that attract the best talent in the region and around the country.

The Alabama Theatre brings in big national acts, as well as outstanding local talent who sing and dance to leave you in awe. Come wintertime, their holiday show, “The South’s Grandest Christmas Show,” is not to be missed. The Carolina Opry features a variety extravaganza with dozens of performers doing songs you love and acts you have to see to believe.

Barefoot Landing has a little bit of everything. Surrounding a lake, there are spaces for kids to play, parents to shop, and an outdoor stage featuring live acts. It’s the kind of place you can spend all day and still come back for something new tomorrow.

After a day of sightseeing, unwind with a drink or two. Duplin Winery offers tastings where experts walk you through the flavor notes of their muscadine wines as you sip away and munch on gourmet cheese dip and crackers. Step out onto the patio to see what live music might be serenading you that day. Duplin Winery is just one of many spots around town where you can catch live entertainment from the afternoon through the evening.

Dance the night away after dinner at a waterside restaurant. You’ll find plenty of restaurants and bars along the beach or Intracoastal boasting live music almost every night of the week starting anywhere from 4 p.m. on. Captain Archie’s, Boardwalk Billy’s, and Molly Darcy's are just a few of the options.

If you’re looking for a crafted brew, stop by Crooked Hammock Brewery. They’re always working on something new, and you can be among the first to try the latest brews at their family-friendly restaurant and brewery.
