Things to do with kids in North Myrtle Beach

“Mom! I’m bored” are not the words you’ll hear on a family getaway to North Myrtle Beach. From fun filled beach days to exciting entertainment options and games galore,  NMB offers the perfect blend of activities that both adults and the kids of all ages can equally enjoy.

Explore the great outdoors!

Out of ideas to keep the family entertained? With 9 miles of uninterrupted beaches, there is nothing you can’t do.

Located in the northernmost end of North Myrtle Beach, Cherry Grove beach has a bit of everything. Lean back and bask in the sun on the wide, sandy beaches while the little ones build a castle. Or test your family’s fishing skills on the Cherry Grove Pier, which is slated to reopen in June 2023. If you have older kids, or if your family is the more adventurous type, enjoy a thrilling banana boat ride or parasailing adventure with Aloha Watersports.

Make lasting memories with the whole family at Shark Wake Park, where you can try your luck at the park's floating obstacle course, wakeboard, knee-board, or even take watersports lessons. Shark Wake will keep the whole family entertained from open to close with endless outdoor fun. The wake park is located in the North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex, which offers walking trails, three playgrounds, a dog park, and more, so you and your family can take a break from the watersports while still enjoying quality time in the great outdoors.

Enjoy dinner and a show!

Stowaway on the Pirate’s Voyage dinner and show. The whole family can join Captain Blackbeard and his quartermaster Calico Jack as they lead Crimson and Sapphire crews in a battle across the hideaway lagoon. Younger kids will be in awe of the beautiful mermaids, tropical birds, and full-sized ships, while older kids will invest in the competition and battle scenes. Each pirate can enjoy a four course meal throughout the show, complete with a delicious dessert.

Dance the night away with music from every decade at the Alabama Theatre’s new show, ICONIC. You and your family will be singing along to country classics, rock n roll favorites, and Broadway showstoppers.

Take family game night to the next level!

Experience game night like no other in North Myrtle Beach at Lulu’s Beach Arcade. Kids both young and old can play the day away at the arcade or dare to explore the ropes course located next door to Lucy Buffet’s Lulu’s restaurant. The arcade has gems from the past, like skeeball and air hockey, as well as tons of interactive casino-style kids games. After working up an appetite, the whole family can enjoy authentic coastal cuisine right on the Intracoastal waterway.

Keep the competitive spirit going at 810 Billiards & Bowling, where you and your crew can challenge each other in bowling, bocce ball, billiards, arcade games, and more. While you’re there, treat the kids (and yourself) to a one-of-a-kind dessert creation at The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar.

No vacation to North Myrtle Beach is complete without a round or two of mini-golf. Putt your way through courses lined with dinos, treasure, and pirates. There’s even an active volcano complete with fire and lava at Hawaiian Rumble.

The beauty of so much to do in North Myrtle Beach? The kids sleep great at night in our numerous accommodations. Pro tip: no sound machines needed when you have the sounds of the ocean singing the little to sleep. Your next family memories are waiting to be made in NMB!
