Dad, daddy, father, papa, pops. Whatever you call your dad there’s one special day a year that we get a reason to celebrate them, Father’s Day. This year ditch the tie and give dad the gift of the TIDE. He will feel like a king the moment he arrives in North Myrtle Beach. Once you kick off your shoes, wiggle your toes in the sand of one of our four beaches, breathe in that salt air, and be serenaded by the sound of the surf, let the celebration begin. Whether dad’s king of the (sand) castle, beach chair, or king of the greens; there is no better way to show him how much he is appreciated and loved.
Not sure what to do? Don’t worry, father knows best on how he wants to celebrate “his” day; but here are some ideas just in case he leaves the decisions to you!
Breakfast of Champs
First things first. To power through the day, you will need to begin with a hearty breakfast. For a great start head over to Dino’s House of Pancakes where they have been serving breakfast to North Myrtle Beach residents and visitors for over 30 years. Offering everything from your typical breakfast to steak and eggs, crab cake benedict, or build your own omelet, the choices are many.
Ready, Set, SWING
Once everyone is fueled up for the day, let’s get dad swinging! Perfect your game by playing a round or two at one of North Myrtle Beach’s great golf courses. A course that accommodates all abilities is Azalea Sands Golf Club. Designed by Gene Hamm, Azalea Sands is one of the few courses along the Grand Strand that does not have any homes adjoining the course. We should also recommend Barefoot Resort & Golf. This multi-course golf resort boasts 4 courses designed by hall of fame players … Greg Norman, Davis Love, III, Tom Fazio, and Pete Dye. Each course is visually striking, fun to play, and offers stunning views.
Spend an hour pier fishing or day on a fishing excursion and dinner may be the “catch of the day”. Book your inshore fishing trip with Captain Smiley Fishing Charters. Captain Smiley will provide all the equipment needed for your trip, including your license. If deep-sea fishing is calling dad’s name, then you need to hop aboard the Little River Fishing Fleet. The #1 deep sea fishing service for over 35 years with 5 boats offering a variety of fishing options.
Dinner for Dad
There is no better way to wind down and really spoil dad than an afternoon on the beach followed by a great meal. There are plenty of dining options located a short distance from all of our beaches. So, whether you choose Cherry Grove, Windy Hill, Crescent Beach, or Ocean Drive you are never far from the action. Let dad work up an appetite by enjoying the beach spending quality time with friends and family. When it’s time for dinner and seafood is the menu of choice, be sure to visit one of the local’s favorites, Boardwalk Billy’s or 3500 Ocean Grill. Both local restaurants offer great food and views.
So, this Father’s Day, whatever you have planned for dad remember that celebrations are better at the beach . . . North Myrtle Beach! Neckties are overrated anyway.
