Escape from the ordinary and get away to North Myrtle Beach this fall. While North Myrtle Beach is known for its fun in the sun during the summer, fall may be one of the best times to visit the area. Beautiful warm days and spacious beaches await you when you visit in the fall.  We put together some ideas on how you can spend a few days on our slice of the Grand Strand.

THE HAPPIEST OF HOURS

Everybody’s workin’ for the weekend, right? Kick yours off with drinks and bites at a North Myrtle Beach happy hour! While North Myrtle Beach is home to dozens of Happy Hours with all kinds of foods, we suggest starting your trip off at one of our faves—Lucy Buffet’s Lulu’s North Myrtle Beach!

Conveniently located in Barefoot Landing, it’s close to tons of food and shopping options. LuLu’s huge wrap-around bar serves up every drink under the sun, including frozen delights like their World Famous Bushwhacker. The best part about LuLu’s is the location on the Intracoastal Waterway and an abundance of open-air seating, allowing you to sip with a stellar view and enjoy the beautiful fall weather.

SHOP AND STROLL

Looking for a new swimsuit to show off on the beach? How about a special gift for that upcoming birthday party or baby shower? Whether you’re looking for something specific or just window shopping for something that sparks joy, North Myrtle Beach has all of the shopping destinations you need. At Barefoot Landing, you’ll be in the middle of a shopping paradise, with boutiques, stores, and specialty shops lining every section of the boardwalk. We’d suggest checking out the Christmas Mouse for a new addition to your tree, Ron Jon Surf Shop for clothes and accessories to up your beach game, or shop for purple jewelry and décor at PURPLEologist.!

A FINE TIME TO DINE

If you enjoyed drinks at LuLu’s and shopping all around, you’re steps away from plenty of places to sit down for dinner.

A meal at Flying Fish, one of North Myrtle Beach’s popular seafood spots, makes the perfect date night experience. Flying Fish has indoor and outdoor dining spaces so you can enjoy the cool fall air. They’re serving up fresh Carolina seafood favorites with far east flair. Flying Fish offers a wide range of southern and sushi favorites, including everything from Grade A Tuna to spicy corn fritters. If tacos and margs with a view is more your style, check out Taco Mundo Kitchen y Cantina. Sip on deliciously crafted cocktails while you enjoy a sunset over the Intracoastal. Be sure to try to Street Corn appetizer - you can thank us later!

TURN UP THE HEAT

If you like to take time during your vacation for a workout, the natural beauty of the area makes it an ideal spot to spend time outdoors. Try a stroll through a parkreconnect with Mother Nature on a nature walk, or, of course, enjoy a run on the wide and beautiful beach

While a morning jog on the sand is probably one of our visitors’ favorite way to get active, we’ve recapped lots of ways to stay healthy during a vacation on our blog.

VITAMIN D AND VITAMIN SEA

No fall trip is complete without plenty of quality time soaking in Vitamin D and Vitamin “sea!”

When you visit the shores of North Myrtle Beach, you’re in for a treat. Grab your beach chair and a towel, bring a good book, or make the perfect playlist. A day on the beach is just what the doctor ordered. Another perk of a fall vacation to North Myrtle Beach? After Labor Day, your furry friends can spend the day with you on the beach (on a leash of course) and shading device regulations offer more options. ONE SWEET AFTERNOON

An afternoon sipping on sweet wine is an afternoon well spent! In North Myrtle Beach, we have the perfect place to enjoy a glass. Duplin Winery is a family-run business based in North Carolina and their North Myrtle Beach location is bottling up their famous muscadine wines alongside tours, treats, and expanded outdoor patio.

Don’t forget to leave with wine and goodies to take home to complete your next charcuterie board!

DRINK IN THE SUNSET

You can’t go on a beachside vacation without drinking in one of our famous sunsets! Let the vibrant colors of the evening sky melt over the horizon while you enjoy cocktail hour during night two of your trip. While the view may be different depending on where you watch, a sunset in North Myrtle Beach looks good from every angle (and it makes for the perfect Instagram story backdrop…).

To find a waterfront bar to soak in the sunset and have a drink—check out this list we’ve put together.

BALLIN’ OUT

Close day two by striking up a match or two at 810 Billiards & Bowling. This one-stop entertainment spot is guaranteed to have all you’re looking for and more. Bowl, dine or play a few rounds of pool with good company in a fun atmosphere. There’s something for all experience levels including standard lanes, boutique lanes, and bocce ball, billiards, and table tennis to enjoy when it’s not your turn to bowl. 810 Billiards & Bowling has a wide selection of wine, beer, cocktails and a varied food menu to keep you refueled while you play.

BACK TO THE BEACH

We know you’re probably ready to get back to the beach, so start day three by heading that way! After you’ve had breakfast at one of North Myrtle Beach’s famous pancake houses, we recommend heading to the Cherry Grove neighborhood to catch some rays.

Cherry Grove Beach has been voted one of America’s best beaches by the readers of USA Today. In this area of town, you’ll find a vibrant beach that’s just steps from all the entertainment you need. Be sure to rent an umbrella and chair so you can make the most of your day.  Around lunchtime, wander up to Cherry Grove Pier. While the Pier is currently under renovation, you can still snag some souvenirs, check out the incredible view of the Atlantic Ocean, and grab some lunch amongst the scenery. Cherry Grove is the perfect place to enjoy another day on the water.

CHARTER AN ADVENTURE

Since you’ve spent time enjoying the sand and surf, now it’s time to get out on the water and explore. One of the best ways to see more of the area and take advantage of nature is to embark on a fishing charter! Surrounded by the ocean and various waterways, North Myrtle Beach is home to some of the best fishing on the East Coast.

Our area is home to several fishing tours and charters companies. Whether you’re looking for a few hours on the river or an entire day at sea, North Myrtle Beach has what you need to drop a line and find today’s fresh catch. Pro-tip: you can even take your catch to Midtown Bistro to be prepared for dinner to close out your trip.  Now that’s what we call fresh!
