Holiday shopping got you stressed? Check off all the names on your list (the naughty and the nice!) during your next vacation to North Myrtle Beach.

In the Spirit

The best place to start shopping is the Christmas Mouse, where it’s all Christmas, all the time. Located in Barefoot Landing, which is on the Intracoastal Waterway, you can do some scenic shopping while you’re here. It’s the perfect place to start your very own tradition of finding a tree ornament during every vacation you take.

Callahan’s of Calabash has a St. Nick Nacks area where you can find even more fun ornaments and holiday decor. They have 150 decorated trees of all sizes and colors and an entire room of Department 56 villages. Beware the fudge counter! Before you know it, you’ll have pounds of fudge of every flavor ready to be devoured.

For a good Christmas time, visit the Dickens Christmas Show & Festival. Hundreds of vendors gather to sell gifts, including locally handmade crafts. And all the salespeople are dressed in Victorian garb. Besides finding toys for the kiddos on your list and gourmet food to snack on later, be sure to take a break for a “cuppa” joe.

Classic Shopping Spots

Of course, your shopping trip can’t be complete without a visit to Barefoot Landing, NMB’s ultimate shopping center, to see what stores have brought in for the holidays. If you have a friend who loves all things purple, you’ll find their gift at Purpleologist. For those who enjoy a good spirit, you’ll find something at Kentucky Mist Distillery. If you find yourself there the weekend before Thanksgiving, they have the Lighting of the Landing with face painting, live music, and lighting of the big tree. In December, the golf carts roll in the Holiday Golf Cart Parade.

For a delicious glass of wine (and bottles for your loved ones) stop by Duplin Winery. These local vintners can help you put together a gift box to take home for holiday parties or create a special gift for your family.

And worry not if you forget (or eat, or drink) a gift or two. Many of the stores and candy shops will ship fresh candy and gifts to wherever you are.
