Inlet Point Plantation Horseback Tours
A highlight of horseback riding on North Myrtle Beach is Waites Island. No need to worry about motorists; the island is car-free.
Inlet Point Plantation offers a one-hour beach ride in the morning or afternoon. If you'd like to ride during sunset, there's a one-hour option for that, too.
What might you find along your Waites Island excursion? Bald eagles, blue herons, loggerhead sea turtles, and bottlenose dolphins to name a few. The 1,000-plus acre island is home to a diverse ecosystem and was once home to the Waccamaw tribe, who left artifacts in their wake.
Explore the plantation's wooded trails on horseback along the Intracoastal Waterway. The one-hour ride is rich with history as the grounds were once the site of Fort Randall, a confederate fort.
Horse riders must be seven years old or older to enjoy a horseback tour. Make a reservation ahead of time; at least two days' notice for sunset tours. Inlet Point Plantation is open Mondays through Saturdays year-round.
For the Little Ones
Little riders under seven are welcome too! Pony rides are available for cowgirls and cowboys (six years old or younger). Experienced guides will help lead kids through the plantation groves. You can opt for a 15 or 30-minute ride.
Plan a Special Occasion
Special occasions become even more special when you celebrate them on horseback with Inlet Point Plantation.
Marriage takes a couple on the ride of a lifetime, so start your journey on a private horseback ride. Inlet will help you coordinate a proposal on Waites Island in the morning, afternoon, or at sunset. The tour guide can help capture the big moment with photos. That way, you don’t have to make up an awkward excuse for why you brought your best friend along for the romantic ride.
Have any other special requests? Call ahead and work with the staff to see what they can make happen.
