New Resident Workshop

Welcome to North Myrtle Beach

Whether you’ve just moved to the area or are getting settled in, the New Resident Workshop is your guide to understanding how North Myrtle Beach works—and how you can be a part of it. Our resident advisory committee helped design this workshop with topics they sought when they moved here.

What You’ll Learn

This free workshop includes information to help new residents become informed and connected community members. Topics include how local government and taxes work, the importance of tourism to our economy, personal care services, and the many ways Destination North Myrtle Beach serves as your community resource.

You'll also learn how to get involved, from volunteering with nonprofits and participating in beautification efforts to applying for city and county boards and commissions. We’ll share tips on local sustainability efforts—like protecting sea turtles, using reusable bags, and recycling oyster shells—and answer your questions about life in NMB.

This is your chance to get the inside scoop, meet fellow residents, and find out how to make the most of living in North Myrtle Beach.

Workshops are free, but registration is required. Our upcoming workshops will be:
