Kids can be picky eaters, which doesn’t stop just because they’re on vacation. Some get even pickier! Luckily, North Myrtle Beach restaurants serve up food and fun for the whole family.
From menus that please a child’s palate to eye-catching nautical décors, our restaurants love catering to kids. Here’s a curated list of some of the best kid-approved dining spots in North Myrtle Beach!

Fun Atmosphere & Delicious Dishes

Food and fun collide at one of the most kid-friendly spots in town, LuLu’s, an indoor-outdoor restaurant at Barefoot Landing along the Intracoastal Waterway. Lulu’s has a private beach for kids with sand toys and games to occupy them while they wait for their meals. Once you're seated, enjoy a delicious seafood basket or a po’boy sandwich and split a tuna or crab dip with the table as live music plays in the background. Kids can choose from seafood options like fish or shrimp or go for popular favorites like a cheeseburger or quesadilla. All meals come with fries, a fruit bowl, or green beans. After eating, kids can burn off the extra energy in the arcade room and the three-story ropes course.

It may be a brewery, but Crooked Hammock, also at Barefoot Landing, made it on the kid-friendly list for its fun backyard. Watch your kids run around in the playground while you lounge in a chair or picnic table with a cold brew in hand. The open-air setting also features fire pits, hammocks, and games like cornhole and ping pong. Choose from an extensive list of locally-crafted beer and food options, from burgers and sandwiches to grilled entrées and finger-licking appetizers, including traditional or boneless wings and sliders. If your kids are of the furry variety, Crooked Hammock is also pet-friendly.

Another noteworthy spot is the Giant Crab Seafood Restaurant situated along the Intracoastal. Your kids will love the giant crab named Tommy perched above the entrance, as well as the life-size model sailboat and 50-foot lighthouse replica. Pick a table in one of the eight dining rooms decorated with sea treasures like life preservers and beach murals. While mom and dad work their way through a buffet stocked with seafood and a carving station, younger diners can hit the Kids’ Corner, where they’ll find everything, from pizza and hamburgers to chicken fingers and french fries.

Feel Good Favorites

When it comes to quality comfort food, the Hoskins Restaurant is a must-try. Since 1948, the popular red-roof establishment has served comfort food, southern style, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Gather around the table any time of day and order the barbecue plate served with french fries, coleslaw, and rolls, or the shrimp or flounder sandwich with coleslaw and your choice of french fries, baked potato, or pasta salad. The restaurant offers lunch specials Thursday through Sunday. Their kid's menu features regular items like corn dogs and grilled cheese and fried shrimp and flounder for the more adventurous tadpoles.

Another popular breakfast and lunch joint is Dino’s House of Pancakes. Order a short stack of its namesake breakfast item (regular or kid size) and add any topping your appetite desires, from blueberries and chocolate chips to pineapples and strawberries. Besides pancakes, Dino’s offers sweet options, like French toast and waffles, to savory choices, including omelets. Lunch includes a wide variety of sandwiches, burgers, and salads.

If pizza day is their favorite lunch at the school cafeteria, they’ll love the family-owned King’s Famous Pizza! King’s brings a taste of the Mediterranean to NMB. The menu features a variety of cheese pies, from custom to signature options, like Zorba's Greek Favorite Pizza with toppings like feta cheese, black olives, tomatoes, spinach, and various seasonings. Other menu items include pasta dishes, sub sandwiches, gyros, and wings.

Sugary Sweet Treats

When your sweet tooth is calling, check out Main Sweets. Their eye-catching decor is eye candy for kids and parents alike. Ice cream, gelato, and colorful candy make this a super sweet stop. If you need a quick scoop on the go, visit Melt, a baby blue ice cream shop steps from the beach. Your kids will love the fun flavors and waffle cones, and you’ll appreciate the fresh ingredients and a chance to cool off.

Between breakfast, lunch, and dinner – and sweet snacks in between – your kids will be happy and full, making any meal a win-win experience in North Myrtle Beach.
