At the southernmost point of North Myrtle Beach lies the Windy Hill area, where you will find access to the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway. Windy Hill is a must see for every visitor. In fact, some of North Myrtle Beach’s biggest attractions live in the Windy Hill community.

What to do

In Windy Hill you’ll find Barefoot Landing, a truly unique dining and shopping experience right on the Intracoastal Waterway! Take a stroll through Barefoot Landing and experience over 100 stores, restaurants and live entertainment. Barefoot Landing is the perfect place to purchase your North Myrtle Beach souvenir to commemorate your trip!

Pets are family too! Dogs are free to walk around Barefoot Landing and are allowed in many of the stores and restaurants. Some restaurants even offer water and treats for your pups!

Barefoot Landing is also home of the renowned Alabama Theatre. The Alabama Theatre offers their ONE The Show and The South's Grandest Christmas Show, both shows are fun for the whole family! Want to take the show on the road…or should we say waterway? The Barefoot Queen Riverboat Cruise is a one-of-a-kind experience. While aboard the Riverboat Queen guests can enjoy dinner and a scenic cruise along the Intracoastal waterway for the ultimate romantic experience. 

One of North Myrtle Beach’s most popular attractions is Alligator Adventure, the ultimate outdoor experience for the kiddos and parents alike. Fun Fact: Alligator Adventure is one of the largest facilities of reptile life in the world!

 

Wine and Dine

Duplin Winery lies in the heart of Windy Hill and is a favorite amongst many. Enjoy a glass of wine, experience a wine tasting, or just bask in the ambiance!  Duplin is known for their delicious, sweet wine, so grab a bottle to take home and share with friends! 

 

Crooked Hammock is a new drinking experience at Barefoot Landing. Crooked Hammock is a brewery, restaurant, and playground all in one! They even has their own “island” with swings which makes for a truly unique drinking and dining experience. Oh, and did we mention their brews are delicious?

There are numerous dining options for the whole family in Windy Hill that offer the complete visitor experience. Lulu’s is a feel-good spot with great food and lots of activities for the kids to enjoy. Enjoy their large range menu or let the kiddos have a blast at their arcade and outdoor adventure course! It’s always 5 o’clock at Landshark Bar and Grill with their family friendly full menu, a great view, and a playground for kids. Taco Mundo is another favorite in Windy Hill, with a flavorful menu and a beautiful patio view of the waterway, you can’t go wrong!

In need of a date night? Greg Norman’s Australian Grill and 21 Main are fantastic options for fine dining in the Windy Hill community. 21 Main offers an exquisite take on the traditional steakhouse menu that is paired with their wide variety of wine selections. Greg Norman’s Australian Grille offers the perfect surf and turf menu served with a view on the Intracoastal Waterway. Both restaurants are date night favorites! 

What’s Happening

There are a wide variety of events taking place all year round in Windy Hill including the locally famous 4th of July Golf Cart Parade. Barefoot Landing has events year-round including SummerFest with weekly fireworks displays, BooFest and the Lighting of the Landing at Barefoot Landing. House of Blues brings in the big names throughout the year and offers great live music on their Deck all summer.
