A stress-free vacation starts with a trusty checklist! Whether you plan on vacationing in North Myrtle Beach for a weekend or a week, in the summer, spring or fall, we’ve curated a helpful guide to make packing as easy as a day at the beach.

Clothing

Pack for a day at the beach, a night out on the town, and everything in-between!

If you’re planning a relaxing beach getaway, you’ll need a couple of swimsuits per person (one can be drying and getting the sand out while you wear one to walk down Main Street). Also, pack a hat (or your face will be red before you know it), beach cover-ups, and polarized sunglasses. Flip-flops are great for the beach, hotel pool, and strolling around Barefoot Landing

While NMB is laid-back, you'll want to pack evening clothes like pants, shorts, skirts, dresses, blouses, and button-up shirts for a night out on the town – perhaps you’d like to dine at a steakhouse before enjoying a show at the Alabama Theatre. Depending on the season, you may want to pack a couple of layers. Check out the local weather here.

For an active vacation, you’ll want to pack workout clothes, socks, and running shoes, especially if you’d like to explore area trails and try out sports like pickleball. If you’ve got water activities on the itinerary, like kayaking, be sure to pack water shoes.

Beach Gear

Sun, sand, and surf are fun on their own. They’re even more fun with all the accessories you need to make a day at the beach complete. Before you start packing, check in advance to see if your accommodation offers beach towels, chairs, umbrellas.

For a day (or several) at the beach, pack:

🮱 Sunscreen
🮱 Sunglasses
🮱 Hats
🮱 Beach towels and blanket
🮱 Beach chairs & umbrellas

Don’t forget to bring a camera to document your trip. If you don’t want to worry about photos, many local outfitters offer photos with watersport activities.
