Sounds of Summer Free Concert Series

Enjoy live music in the great outdoors at the new North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex's "Sounds of Summer" Concert Series.

Featuring local and regional acts playing on the amphitheater stage, the Sounds of Summer shows take place every third Friday night of the month from May through September. The concerts, which are free and open to the public, run from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Sandhills Bank Amphitheater.

Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to sit out under the stars and experience a wide selection of music. This year's lineup features a variety of music for all ages, from beach music and classic rock to Motown and rhythm and blues.

The summer-long concert series kicks off May 15 with the Brickhouse Band taking the stage. Sound Express & The Legacy (June 19), local favorites Gary Lowder & Smokin' Hot (July 17), Painted Man (Aug. 21), and Nantucket (Sept. 18) round out this year's musical lineup.

Concession stands will be open but coolers, outside food and drink and tobacco products are not allowed on the grounds. For updated weather information, call (843) 280-5594, extension 3.

The Sounds of Summer provides the perfect opportunity to check out the recreational facilities at the North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex. In addition to sports fields and the amphitheater, the park features hiking trails, a leash-free dog park, and the Go Ape TreeTop Adventure ropes course and zipline, and Jet Pack Adventure.
