Although horseback riding on the beach is banned during the summer months on the Grand Strand, Inlet Point Plantation utilizes the 1,380-acre Waites Island, where you can ride on the beach year-round. This beautiful, undeveloped island serves as the perfect location for riding and trotting through the surf and the sand.
Experienced guides offer basic instructions and lead guests on a series of scenic tours aboard the majestic steeds, ranging from smaller quarter horses to larger thoroughbreds. Riders mount up at the stables and depart for the popular beach trail, the plantation tour or the Intracoastal Waterway ride - all lovely tours. Inlet Point offers a variety of options for your excursion, the beach ride can include one or two hour tours, they also offer a romantic sunset and moonrise tour, plus options of an extended trip that gives guests more time to enjoy Waite Island.
If you’d like photos to remember your experience, they also have portrait packages available. All riders must be at least 10 years old and no experience is necessary. Reservations are required.
