North Myrtle Beach: Our Big Tournaments in Town

Tournaments in North Myrtle BeachSpring is here and the sports scene is really heating up in North Myrtle Beach.  In honor of March Madness, we’re taking a look at some of the biggest sporting events coming to North Myrtle Beach this year.

As you’re planning your stay, see if one of these fun-filled tournaments falls while you’re in town! If you plan on participating in any of them, check out our amazing accommodations to make your trip an easy one.

We are happy to host so many exciting tournaments at the North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex! Here is a list of just a few of the biggest ones coming up:

Ultimate Frisbee

High Tide is the largest college Ultimate Frisbee spring break tournament in the world and was hosted at the North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex weekends this March. Celebrating 20 years, this tournament has become a highly anticipated event, and has grown to more than 225 teams! Baseball and softball in North Myrtle Beach

Baseball

Top Gun Sports hosts over 600 baseball tournaments each year and The North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex will be hosting the 2016 Top Gun “Trucker Hats” Tournament April 9-10. There is a 4 game guarantee and FREE trucker hats will be given to all winning and runner-up teams in each age bracket!

Pickleball

What is pickleball? Pickleball is a combination of badminton, ping-pong, and tennis. The players use wooden paddles to hit a ball similar to a Wiffle ball over a net. The rules are similar to tennis, and the game has become quite popular since its invention in mid-1960. So popular, in fact, that North Myrtle Beach Parks and Recreation is hosting the Paddle at the Beach Pickleball Tournament the weekend of April 15. The tournament will be held at the J. Bryan Floyd Community Center and the cost is $25 per player.

Volleyball

Excell Storm is presenting The Storm Tour, a Summer Grass Volleyball Tournament at the North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex May 14-15. Costs for pre-registered open divisions are $75 and walk-up registrations are $90. There are always games of beach volleyball happening up and down our shoreline, but this grass volleyball tournament is sure to feature some great competition!

World Fast Pitch

The World Fast Pitch summer series will be held in North Myrtle Beach with new expanded dates. 8 and under and 10 and under age brackets will be held July 8-11 and all other age brackets will follow on July 11-17. Be sure to get your Sports Pass if someone is coming to play!
