5 Fun Ideas for Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is wonderful time to take a trip and reconnect with someone special. In North Myrtle Beach you can opt for your traditional Valentine’s Day dinner (there are plenty of great places to eat for you foodies), or consider a fun alternative to make this romantic day extra special. Here’s our list of five fun Valentine’s Day dates:

Horseback riding on the beach:

Valentine's Day at the beachImagine horseback riding on the beach – just you and your loved one, the sand, the ocean and your horses. Well, you don’t have to imagine it, because at Inlet Point Plantation, you can ride horses on a beautiful undeveloped island. Inlet Point Plantation also offers Sunset Tours if you’re really looking for a date worthy of a fairy tale.

Learn how to dance the Shag:

Hit the dance floor with your significant other and learn a new (well, not-so-new) dance! Main Street Ocean Drive, located in the heart of North Myrtle Beach, is known for the Carolina Shag, a popular dance that begin in the 1940s. Take a lesson at Fat Harold’s Beach Club, an iconic shag hall located on Main Street. If you work up an appetite, walk over to Señor Willie’s Taco Shack for a delicious late-night burrito.

Spend a day at local wineries and vineyards:

You can make a whole day out of sampling local wines together at North Myrtle Beach’s charming wineries, Duplin Winery and La Belle Amie Vineyard. Duplin Winery, located near Barefoot Landing, has a beautiful (and huge!) store, which has every variety of its famous wine. Beautiful La Belle Amie is located on a former plantation in Little River, just a 10-minute drive from Cherry Grove. Both of these wineries offer tastings that are not only educational, but affordable. Find your favorite, buy a bottle and head out to the porch to uncork and enjoy, as both wineries have beautiful outdoor scenery.

Cook a romantic seafood dinner for two:

Heat up the kitchen and cook dinner together. When planning your trip to North Myrtle Beach, be sure to book a beach home, condo, resort or hotel that includes a kitchen. Pick up everything you need for dinner (and more!) at Boulineau’s. Located in Cherry Gove, this shopping village is a one-stop shop for anything and everything you’ll need, including fresh seafood. Many of our accommodations come with a complimentary view of the Atlantic, so enjoy dinner with a view.

Relax together:

Valentine's Day is the perfect time to indulge in some R & R. North Myrtle Beach is home to many spas and salons. Book a couples treatment at Touch MedSpa and spend an afternoon being professional pampered.

Get competitive at game night:

Because who doesn’t like to win? Head over to 710 North Myrtle Beach for a game night you’ll love. 710 North Myrtle Beach is a unique bowling and gaming venue, offering ping pong, bocce ball, cornhole and darts. All of the lanes, courts and tables can be reserved in advance. Raise the stakes and make the loser buy dessert from Sugar Baby’s Doughnuts & Ice Cream.
