North Myrtle Beach Fourth of July

Enjoy a star-spangled celebration full of sun, sand, and festivities in North Myrtle Beach. Our city offers the perfect family-friendly atmosphere to enjoy fireworks displays, air shows, and of course, delicious food. Don’t miss out on making this holiday an unforgettable experience shared with family and friends.

Daytime Family Fun

North Myrtle Beach's 4th of July events begin early in the day! Start your Independence Day Weekend with a bang when you run the Annual Red, White, and Blue 5K at Barefoot Landing. Family members of all ages are welcome, and participants are encouraged to dress in their patriotic best for a chance to win prizes!

Plan to spend some time relaxing on the beach that afternoon. You’ll want to be down on the sand before 1 P.M. so you don’t miss the Salute from the Shore, the annual flyover of South Carolina’s coast that honors America’s armed forces. Wave your flags high as the military planes fly overhead. This event is truly a must-see and an incredible reminder that we are the land of the free because of the brave.

Let freedom sing on July 1 and 2, when you make plans to attend the City of North Myrtle Beach’s All City Choir Cantata: A Patriotic Celebration, held at Living Water Baptist Church.  This free event is a patriotic celebration with songs of God and country and is sure to be a star-spangled hit for the whole family. Tickets are first come, first serve, so be sure to arrive early.

July 4th Feasts & Fireworks

There’s nothing more American than juicy cheeseburgers and hot dogs fresh off the grill as your 4th of July feast! Find everything you need and more for your meal at Boulineau’s Food Plus, a Cherry Grove landmark, then grill it all up on the deck of your beach home or vacation rental. Once your bellies are full, grab a lawn chair and head to the Cherry Grove Pier for a firework extravaganza at 9:30 p.m. For a view of the fireworks like no other, hop aboard the Sea Racer's 4th of July Fireworks Cruise for an evening ride on the Intracoastal Waterway and a view of the fireworks from the Little River Inlet.

If you prefer to let someone else do the cooking, explore a variety of options at Barefoot Landing or Broadway at the Beach and plan to stick around for their professional displays at 10 p.m., You can even catch the show from the water while onboard the Barefoot Queen Riverboat's July 4th Fireworks Cruise!

While you’re in North Myrtle Beach, remember to leave the fireworks to the professionals. Setting off your own fireworks is illegal within City limits, but not to worry, sparklers are always welcome!

Let Freedom Ring

It’s easy to get caught up in the fun of the 4th, but in North Myrtle Beach we remember that freedom isn’t really free. We salute and honor the men and women who have fought, sacrificed, and continue to bravely serve our country. God Bless America, from sea to shining sea!
