2015 MayFest on Main Festival
North Myrtle Beach has its own distinct rhythm, flavor and flair, and each year those qualities are on full display at the MayFest on Main celebration in downtown Ocean Drive.
Featuring a full day of live music and dancing, hot food and cold drinks, arts and crafts vendors and fun for all ages, this kickoff to the summer season sees more than 15,000 visitors and locals storm the historic “Horseshoe” section at the corner of Ocean and Main and the surrounding blocks. The 10th Annual MayFest on Main street party is set for 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday May 9, 2015.
Headlining this year’s musical lineup is classic rock legend The Guess Who, which had chart-topping hits with “American Woman”, “These Eyes”, and “No Sugar Tonight” in the 1960s and ‘70s. Opening the show on the main stage at noon is Blue Monday, Barbara Lewis, and the Carolina Soul Band, which brings classic beach music to the birthplace of the shag. Bring a chair or dance in the streets to the beats of North Myrtle Beach.
Be sure to fuel up for a busy day at the many food and beverage vendors. Serving everything from local seafood to traditional carnival fare, MayFest of Main also offers lots of ways to work off lunch. Stroll through the rows of tents where local and regional artists display their works, and shop for bargains on unique items. For the little ones, a Kids Zone area has rides, games and amusements to keep them entertained, and the community stage features an array of youth performances.
