15 years ago, good friends Johnny Folsom and Toddy Smith were sitting on the beach on the 4th of July, talking about how they were enjoying family and friends while the young people of the military were defending us overseas. Johnny and Toddy decided that these people needed to be honored, and they set out to find a way to make this happen.
That dream became a reality and now a tradition. Head to the beach on the 4th of July to witness the patriotic flyover of military aircrafts. The flyover starts at 1 P.M. and North Myrtle Beach is at the top of the list, so grab your beach chair and get their early. Salute from the Shore encourages beach goers to GO BIG! Bring your flags and don't forget to dress the part in your best red, white and blue!
