Want to take a much-needed family beach vacation, but hoping to keep it budget-friendly? In North Myrtle Beach, you’ll find plenty of free things to do that will keep your family entertained and help keep your vacation on budget.
The Beach
One of the most enjoyable free activities is obviously spending time at the beach! With nine miles of pristine coastline, you can soak up the sun, swim in the Atlantic, or take a leisurely walk along the shore. The beaches here are well-maintained and provide a perfect setting for a relaxing day for families. Take a look around for seashells, jellyfish, and other creatures, or just sit back and enjoy the coastal views.
Live Music
If it seems like we are always having a concert in North Myrtle Beach, it is probably because most of the time, there is live music in the air! Every Thursday night all summer long, you can check out the free Music on Main concert series, which features some of the best local music around. This year the North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex is once again hosting the Sounds of Summer Concert Series. Both concert series are free to the public, and food and drinks will be available to purchase during the event. Bring a blanket or beach chair, find yourself the perfect seat, and check out our events page for the latest details.
North Myrtle Beach Area Historical Museum
Our beaches and outdoor attractions aren’t the only free things to do in North Myrtle Beach. Curating over 55 years of history and stories, the North Myrtle Beach Area Historical Museum invites you to explore our past through its collection of artifacts, photographs, and more — all displayed in exciting and immersive exhibits. Open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., this newly remodeled museum is free to the public. You can also dance your way into a little bit of history with free shag lessons at Fat Harold’s. Every Tuesday at 7 p.m. learn South Carolina’s state dance that started right here in the 1930s.
