Summer gets all the glory, but fall has some tricks up its sleeves in North Myrtle Beach, where temps are perfect, prices are low, and festivals light up Main Street and beyond. Here are five reasons to explore NMB in autumn. It wasn’t easy narrowing down the list to just five!

1. Delicious Food & Brews

North Myrtle Beach restaurants, bars, and breweries offer patrons a feast of seasonal treats that go beyond the pumpkin patch.

Spend a fall afternoon with a cold one at Crooked Hammock Brewery. Its year-round outdoor backyard is fun and relaxing for kids and adults alike. Drink a pint of a fall-inspired brew, like the creatively named Haulin’ Oats or the pumpkin coffee ale, while your kids play on the playground.

For dinner, dine at Filet’s, Captain Jack’s Seafood Buffet, or another seafood restaurant and order the catch of the day. Tarpon and redfish are in this season!

2. Fall Festivals Galore

Some may call autumn “off-season,” but we call it fall fest season!

Duplin Winery is hosting a Grape Stomp event during Barefoot Landing's SeptemberFest!, an all-day family event held on Saturday, September 16th. Sign up for grape stomping and enjoy the fruits of your labor with a wine bottle and tumbler gift set.

Pack your dancing shoes because the SOS Fall Migration (September 14th-24th) will have you moving to NMB’s signature shag dance. Music from live bands will fill the air along Main Street as pros show off their shag skills and newbies quickly pick it up.

On Saturday, September 30th, the Irish Italian International Festival will light up Main Street. From Irish stew to freshly stuffed cannolis, stuff your face all afternoon, and immerse yourself in the two cultures during the free, family-friendly festival.

Get into the Halloween spirit with BooFest! on October 28th at Barefoot Landing. Festivities include children’s and pet costume contests and a free showing of the Halloween film “Hocus Pocus” on the Dockside Village Amphitheater lawn.

3. Beach Temps

The forecast calls for a 100% chance of fun, so pack your sunscreen and bathing suit if you plan to visit NMB in the fall. Though the calendar may say autumn, it’s still beach weather in NMB, with the average high in October around 75° Fahrenheit.

4. Fewer Crowds

While visiting NMB in the fall, you can enjoy more space at the beach and extra elbow room at the bar. See our laid-back attitude on full display. Restaurants with long wait times in the summer can serve you right away – but just in case, call ahead to make a reservation if the restaurant recommends it.

Want a prime tee time? No problem! Choose your experience at any pro or mini-golf course along the Grand Strand.

5. Holiday Deals

Autumn is the perfect time to start (and finish!) your holiday shopping.

Find numerous shops under one roof at Barefoot Landing with prime holiday deals. Shop for purple jewelry and décor for your best friend at PURPLEologist. It’s always the holidays at Christmas Mouse, the place to shop for holiday ornaments and décor to remind you of your trip and inspire your next one to NMB.

You’ll also find plenty of locally-owned shops along Main Street, from galleries and studios, such as Board & Brush, to unique boutiques, like Hope Taylor & Company, stocked with women’s clothing, accessories, and more.

Celebrate the start of a new season of fun in North Myrtle Beach. Come here for these five reasons, and once you’re here, you’ll find even more reasons to return. See you soon!
