North Myrtle Beach Parks & Recreation

When you’re ready for some fun and games, hit up our Parks & Rec. North Myrtle Beach has great places to burn off some energy and have fun. Maybe you’re looking to run the bases or take a dive. You could need a place to hold your family reunion or bring a large group together in one place everyone can enjoy.

We’re proud of NMB’s clean, accessible, fun parks, and can’t wait to welcome you.

Enjoy Some Fresh Air

Central Park is the center of the action when you’re looking for a little friendly competition that elevates your heart rate and adrenaline levels. Spread out over 20 acres, there’s space for young kids to run around and enjoy themselves while older guests hit up the sports facilities.

Baseball fans are in their element. Warm up at the batting cages then take the field. Breathe in the smell of freshly cut grass and a well-oiled glove, because NMB’s Central Park has three youth softball fields.

You can start a pick-up game at one of our half-court basketball facilities. Or if b-ball’s not your game, grab your racquet! We have four lighted outdoor tennis courts plus four outdoor pickleball courts.

If you want something a little more relaxed, take a stroll along our paved walking path, grab a snack from the concession stand, and rest under one of the three, reservable, picnic shelters.

Stay Active

The J. Bryan Floyd Community Center has activities to stretch your body and your mind. They have four fields for soccer and baseball, four tennis courts, two volleyball and basketball courts, batting cages, and outdoor pickleball. They have two playgrounds and lots of picnic tables where you can sit and catch your breath. All that’ll have you working up a sweat.

Inside there is so much more to explore. They have a stage for performances and classrooms for extended learning. Adults can sign up for one of their yoga programs or martial arts classes. And if you’re ready to move, they’ve got rockin’ Zumba classes. Kids can sign up for youth tennis or taekwondo, or channel their inner-Picasso and take a youth art class.

North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex is a sprawling, 160-acre attraction of fun. Their well-maintained fields can host everything from baseball and football to lacrosse and quidditch! In fact, plenty of local youth and adult sports teams host their matches here regularly.

In addition to its softball and soccer fields, the park is home to a 20-acre lake for water activities, three playgrounds, over five miles of walking and nature trails, and a cable pull wake park, complete with a floating obstacle island.

At the center of the complex is the 12-acre open area, McLeod Meadow. This grassy haven is available for general recreation activities, family picnics, or simply a relaxing day outdoors.

Bring your pup for a run around the dog park. The dog park includes separate fenced-in areas for small and large dogs where your best friend can make some new friends of their own. The gates open at 6:30 am and close at 8 pm.

Surrounded by a natural landscape and walking trails, the park’s open-air amphitheater is the perfect venue for outdoor live music concerts, plays, performances, weddings, and more. When the weather warms up, bring your beach chair or picnic blanket and enjoy the Sounds of Summer Concert Series. When there’s a nip in the air, the Great Christmas Light Show lights up the night with a drive-thru Christmas light display.

Make a Splash

Things are getting wet and wild at the North Myrtle Beach Aquatic & Fitness Center. Make a splash on the 20-foot waterslide before heading over to their eight-lane, 25-yard lap pool. If that’s a little too intense, they also have a warm water therapy pool.

Your adventure’s only begun once you towel off. The gym has two basketball courts, and they also have a fitness center and racquetball courts. Fitness classes range from yoga and pilates to kickboxing and dance. If you want to get back in the pool, they have swim classes for adults and kids.
